Geunjeongjeon Hall is the central building of Gyeongbokgung Palace and is a national treasure of Korea. The king of Joseon performed state affairs, official duties, and received foreign envoys here.

근정전은 경복궁의 중심 건물이며 우리나라 국보입니다. 조선의 왕은 이곳에서 국정을 수행하고, 공식 업무를 수행했으며, 외국 사신을 접견했습니다.

This hall was built in 1394, in the third year of the reign of King Taejo. It was burned down during the Japanese aggression of 1592 and rebuilt in 1867, the fourth year of the reign of King Gojong.

근정전은 태조 3년인 1394년에 지어졌습니다. 그러나, 임진왜란 때 불타서 고종 4년인 1867년에 재건되었습니다.

The throne is centered toward the back of the hall. The hall is a high-ceilinged structure with a single room.

왕좌는 근정전의 내부 뒤쪽 중앙에 자리잡고 있으며, 근정전은 천장이 높은 싱글홀 구조입니다.

The hall is single-storeyed. Standing on the tiled floor, one can look up at the recessed ceiling. The height of the ceiling and pillars around the hall is imposing, as if to symbolize royal authority.

근정전은 단층으로 되어 있으며, 타일 바닥에 서면 움푹 들어간 천장을 올려다볼 수 있습니다. 천장과 기둥의 높이가 왕실의 권위를 상징하듯 위풍당당한 모습입니다.

The ceiling is decorated with traditional dancheong colors. The scene of a pair of dragons in the clouds trying to get beads is engraved in a concave place.

천정은 전통적인 단청 색상으로 장식되어 있습니다. 구름 속의 용 한 쌍이 구슬을 얻기 위해 애쓰는 모습이 오목한 곳에 새겨져 있습니다.

The stone foundations were constructed for the purpose of elevating the Geunjeongjeon Hall. The foundations are really broad.

근정전을 높이려는 목적으로 석조 주춧돌을 세웠으며, 그 기초는 정말 넓습니다.

Haetae, a legendary animal, is located on the stairs to Geunjeongjeon Hall.

근정전으로 올라가는 계단에는 전설의 동물인 해태가 자리잡고 있습니다.
