  • Gyeonghoeru Pavilion was used as the official banquet place. The king went there to receive foreign envoys and to ritual for rain.

    경회루는 공식적인 연회 장소로 사용되었다. 왕은 외국 사신들을 접견하고 기우제를 지내기 위해 그곳에 갔다.

  • There are 48 stone pillars in Gyeonghoeru, the outer stone pillars are square and the inner stone pillars are round. Our ancestors thought that the sky was round and the earth was square.

    경회루에는 48개의 돌기둥이 있는데, 바깥쪽의 돌기둥들은 사각형 모양이고 안쪽의 돌기둥들은 둥근 모양이다. 우리 조상들은 하늘은 둥글고 땅은 사각형이라고 생각했다.

  • There are 11 small figurines on the roof of Gyeonghoeru. The small figurines guarded the palace and the king from evil spirit.

    경회루의 지붕에는 11개의 작은 조각상이 있다. 그 작은 조각상들은 사악한 것으로부터 궁전과 왕을 지켰다.

  • Ancestors put two bronze dragons in the pond to stop the fire and wishing for raining when the king Gojong rebuilt Gyeonghoeru.

    고종이 경회루를 다시 지었을때, 선조들은 연못에 두 마리의 청동 용을 넣어 불을 막고 비를 기원했다.
